Many people in Germany have pets, the most popular being dogs and cats. Pet grooming products are on trend because pet owners want their companions to be healthy and in top condition. Special dog shampoos are the right choice for this. Human shampoos should not be used because they damage the natural fat layer formed by the sebaceous glands in dogs. This fat layer provides important protection for dogs and keeps their coat shiny. The dog shampoo should suit the dog’s coat, which varies by breed. Some dogs are short-haired, while others are long-haired. These coat types can in turn be multi-layered or single-layered. Dog shampoos are usually available for different skin types: moisturising for dry skin or soap-free for sensitive skin. Shampoos with aloe vera have a particularly moisturising effect.
Detangling shampoos are available for dogs with long coats that mat easily. Then there are special shampoos against parasites such as fleas and ticks. Shampoos that enhance the dog’s appearance, such as brightening shampoo for white coats or colour intensifying shampoo for dark coats, are also available. A practical grooming product for dogs, and less time-consuming than a bath, is the dog wash. This spray-on product removes dirt and odours from the dog’s coat. It is sprayed on against the direction of growth and then rubbed down with a towel. It can also be used to clean the dog’s paws after a walk in the forest, for example. If the dog’s coat becomes damp from the rain, this grooming product gets rid of the typical “wet dog” smell that many people find unpleasant. The product comes in a spray bottle and is quick and easy to apply. It’s also suitable for cats. Dry shampoos, skin care sprays, ear cleaners and paw care products for dogs are also on the market. Special sprays for pet environments combat bacteria and viruses to eliminate odours. The range of grooming products for cats also extends from special shampoos to products for cleaning the ears and face and others for keeping cat litter fresh.
Production of horse shampoo and dog wash
Horses are also popular companions for many people, but they need regular attention to keep them healthy. There are numerous care products a horse’s coat, an important one being horse shampoo. As a contract manufacturer, we have extensive experience in the production and contract filling of these products. Mane and coat shine sprays, mane foam and disinfectants are also available. An important consideration in contract manufacturing of pet grooming products is that the ingredients must be suitable for use on animals. We also advise manufacturers on suitable containers. For pet care products, user-friendliness is a major consideration. Dog shampoos are usually put in bottles with screw caps or flip top lids so that the closure can be opened and closed quickly.
Popular sizes are 200 ml, 250 ml and 500 ml. For cleaning products such as dog wash, the spray bottle is a viable solution. Plastic spray bottles allow easy application with one hand while the other hand holds the animal. The nozzle of the spray bottle is also adjustable. Plastic bottles with screw caps are suitable for horse shampoos. Sizes of 500 ml or more are practical, as larger quantities of shampoo are usually needed for horses. Round bottles are a popular shape in this area.
